You can also call me Mel. I'm a higher-education communications professional with previous experience as a visual journalist, writer, copy editor, and media planner for publications in the Midwest and the Florida Panhandle. My professional interests also include research, leadership and training.

My most recent publication is a chapter titled "International Teamwork in Public Health: Collaborating on Applied Research" in Real-Life Scenarios: A Case Study Perspective on Health Communication (du Pré and Berlin Ray, 2017), from Oxford University Press.
